FReeZA

What is FReeZA?
The FReeZA is a program managed by the Office for Youth, within the Department of Planning and Community Development in the Victorian Government.
They give the Southern Grampians FReeZA committee funding to put on music or cultural events in the Shire for young people 12 to 25.
These events are fully supervised, drug, alcohol, and smoke free, with no passouts so that everyone at the events are safe and can have fun in a friendly environment.
Southern Grampians FReeZA Committee
The FReeZA Committee holds 5 FReeZA events a year in the Southern Grampians.
At our weekly meetings, we decide when and where to have the FReeZA events, as well as what type it could be. For example, in the past we have held a variety of events including: DJ Night, Battle of the Bands, Dress Up Night, Outdoor Picnics, Skate Competition, and a Dodgeball tournament.
For each event the FReeZA committee has many jobs, some of these are:
Book security
Book bands
Book venues
Make up flyers and put them around town and in schools
Manage stage
Take surveys of young people at events
Set up /pack up and clean venues
FReeZA is a great way to get involved in local community events and meet lots of fun new people from around the area!
FReeZA committee is always looking for new members, so if this sounds like something you would like to do then contact us now!
